Here’s some new ones…

Film looks so much cooler than digital (IMHO)… this is one of my favorite pictures I’ve taken:

Since I fancy myself a music video director, it would make sense that a great music video would inspire me. I never really understood the art form to music videos until I started watching some good ones. It’s hard to find (relative) inspiration when all you see on screen is a rapper and a bunch of girls dancing around. But then again, for some videos, I think your limited by the song. If you can take that and make it something great, you’re certainly on the right track.
I’ve gone though and marked my favorite videos. I think anyone who has an interest in photography, storytelling, writing, and of course film/video will find each of these to be pretty encouraging… or who knows, maybe you’ll hate them… either way, give them a shot:
This is probably one of the best shot, most creatively non-overdone videos I’ve seen. It was directed by (in my opinion, the best in the game right now) Anthony Mandler. There’s plenty more of his work on this list.
Yes, more Killers, more Mandler.
OK this one probably takes the cake. It’s too weird and abstract to focus on the cinematography but this is one of the coolest video’s I’ve seen…
What videos do YOU like, blog reader?

I had the honor of working with Ace Edwards a couple weeks ago. Ace Edwards = awesome… very cool guy, he’s into good music, fashion, film, etc. A HUGE thank you to The Quarter Bar for letting us film in such a PERFECT place! Anyways, here is the video, let me know what you think:

So I just got married. Me and my lovely new wife spent a week in Fiji for our honeymoon. It was amazing. Here are some of the pictures- send me your thoughts!

A few weeks ago I was put in touch with a local Dallas rapper named ‘Show’. He is in the top 15 unsigned artists in the Dallas area on Myspace and has very huge, very loyal following. Since I’m still fairly new to doing music videos, I’ve never done a hip-hop/rap video before so I made sure to do my homework. I wanted something classy, sleek, and kind of sexy (grrrr)! A HUGE thank you to the people at Hotel Lumen! They were beyond great to us! We shot everything in a single day (a very long day). Check out the video and please, pipe up and let me know what you think!
